The Red Circle presents the REAL Red Circle. In our namesake story, the Camorra (Italy's notorious Naples-based organized crime syndicate) is called the Carbonari. Did Watson change the name to protect the guilty? No matter, Camorra, Carbonari or Red Circle, we'll get a blow by blow account of its checkered past from Charles Rooney, 35-year veteran of the FBI with long experience in organized crime investigations near and far, including Italy, Canada, Switzerland, Brazil, Spain, Turkey, South Africa and the United Kingdom. In retirement Agent Rooney consults for corporate clients and the Department of Justice. With his intimate knowledge of organized crime groups he's a true "family man," and we're sure his presentation will be a "hit!" Dinner will reflect the spirit of the evening, with an Italian-themed buffet that's sure to please. Your presence is required and ordered. This time we mean it. Capisce?

The Red Circle is the local chapter of the Baker Street Irregulars, the fans of Sherlock Holmes. Their web site is www.redcircledc.org. The Red Circle of Washington was founded in 1950, and takes its name from the Sherlock Holmes story "The Adventure of the Red Circle."
