|THE SOCIETY'S PUBLIC ADVOCACY EFFORTS|
The Society’s Mission is to preserve our shared FBI values; to support the welfare of our members through services, benefits, and career networking; to offer programs of fellowship, education, service and history; and to promote the FBI and law enforcement/ national security communities. Clearly our mission places a key on advocacy in support of our members, the FBI, law enforcement, and our national security communities. Our advocacy goals are set forth:
1. Support and Defend the FBI
2. Highlight the Cyber Threat
3. Safeguard America’s Children
4. Address Topical Issues of Importance
5. Respond to Media Inquiries
Our advocacy efforts currently reflect all of the above issues. Efforts on the forefront right now are the Society’s efforts to highlight the plight of member Bob Levinson, taken while on Kish Island in Iran; to ensure that murderer Leonard Peltier is not released from jail; to ensure that Service Martyr John Bailey’s murderer is not released from jail, as well as to call for resolution of the lengthy investigation into member Richard Bell and his two sons.
