Cause of Death: On June 19, 1990, Special Agent Paul F. Cavanagh traveled on a private plane from Beverly, MA, to Greenville, ME, to attend a SWAT training exercise as part of his official duties. The plane crashed just after midnight on June 19, 1990, killing SA Cavanagh and the pilot, Massachusetts State Trooper Joseph Moynihan.
Cavanagh was born on March 8, 1947, in Somerville, MA. He joined the FBI in June 1971. He was an Agent for 19 years and died at the age of 43.
