Children and grandchildren of Society members may apply for the Foundation's Skilled Trades Grant on a year-round basis. This $2,000 educational grant is available to students who are beginning or continuing post-secondary education in a skilled trades program. These vocational careers can include HVAC, plumbing, cosmetology, electrician, auto mechanics or autobody, carpentry, healthcare, welding, CDL certificate, massage therapy, or many of the other skilled trade jobs that require work experience, on-the-job training and vocational education, but not a 4-year college degree. For consideration, interested applicants must submit a fully completed typed application for review and approval by the Foundation Board of Trustees. Applicants who have previously received a scholarship or skilled trades grant from the Foundation are not eligible to apply. A designated number of awards will be available each year and must be used in the current academic year following approval by the Board of Trustees

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be the child or grandchild of a current or deceased member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI. Society membership number must be provided.
  • Must have a high school cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • A current academic transcript must be submitted with the application. It may be an unofficial copy.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and enrolled in or entering a post-secondary certificate or degree program at an accredited community or technical college, trade school or union apprentice program as a full-time student.
  • Provide enrollment verification before funds will be distributed.

  3. Provide proof of enrollment or information about the program you are applying for (Proof of acceptance/enrollment must be submitted before the funds will be distributed).
